Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring

DAMIR DOMA FW 2010 from Damir Doma on Vimeo.

Without the contouring, flattering, and sometimes optically illusional manoeuvrings of fine micro-tailoring, what would fashion be? Something surprising, honest and beautiful apparently. There is an allure that is both simple and complex in Damir Doma's monastic lines and countours. Behind the drapage and soft angles there lies a philosophy that seems to suggest a moving forward and beyondness from all the flash and sex of the post-apocalyptical we all know and once loved.
Here we see androgyny, but not in the pugilistic, fourth-wave feminist vein. Here, we have risen above that - to form, function, humility and a kind of minimalism that is at peace with itself. A kind of minimalism that isn't denying anyone anything, and a kind of modernism that isn't indulging anyone either.
A simple slit down the back of a masterfully draped dress covering most of the body including the head...
Temperence. The new vice.
